THE TALES OF BEEDLE THE BARD: The Tales of the Three Brothers

Hello people, anyone here is a Harry Potter's fan? If it's a yes, then we like the same thing!
As Harry Potter's fans or known as Potter Head, we surely know the stories in the book that is called THE TALES OF BEEDLE THE BARD, especially the story about The Tale of the Three Brothers which was shown in Harry Potter's last series, the Deathly Hallows.

Why do I choose to review this book? Well, it is because I'm so in to Harry Potter and I've been following all of the series. This book was left to Hermione by Albus Dumbledore in his will.

This book contains 5 stories, such as The Wizard and the Hopping Pot, The Fountain of Fair Fortune, The Warlock's Hairy Heart, Babbitty Rabbitty and Her Cackling Stump, and The Tales of the Three Brothers. Those stories were mentioned in Harry Potter's series, except The Warlock's Hairy Heart.
This book was written for young-wizards and witches. The stories here are similar with the muggle's (non-magic) fairytales, such as Cinderella, Snow White, and many other stories.



Deathly Hallows

The famous story of this book is The Tales of the Three Brothers. It was a story that lead The Deathly Hallows. The story was about the three brothers who traveling together and reach treacherous river. Since they were wizards, they created a magical bridge over the river, so that they safely cross the river. As they crossed the bridge, they met a personification of Death, who was angry because he lost three potential victims. He pretended to be impressed by them and grant each a wish as a reward.


The Three Brothers meet the Death

The oldest brother asked an unbeatable dueling wand, so Death gave him an Elder Wand. The middle brother asked for the ability to resurrect the dead, then Death gave him the Resurrect Stone. However, the youngest brother didn't trust Death, he asked him for a way to stop Death from following him, so then Death reluctantly gave him his Cloak of Invisibility. Afterwards, the three brothers went their separated ways.
The oldest brother, with the elder wand, finally resolved a previous qualm by killing a man he quarreled, but he was killed in his sleep by a robber after he boasted about his wand, then Death took him. The middle brother used his resurrect stone to bring back the woman he loved, who died before he could marry her. However, she wasn't fully alive and full of sorrow as she didn't belong in the land of the living. The middle brother killed himself to join her, and Death took him. As for the youngest brother, Death couldn't manage to find him, as he stayed hidden under his Cloak of Invisibility. After many years, the youngest brother took off his cloak and gave it to his son. Pleased with his achievements, he greeted Death as an old friend and chose to live with him as equals.
Together, the three things Death gave were called Deathly Hallows. If we have those three things, we could definitely cheat the Death.

As most of the muggle's fairytale, the tales that Rowling created are also giving moral values. For example, The Tale of the Three Brothers are teaching us to not being as arrogant as the two older brothers and instead being as humble and wisdom as the youngest brother.

I suggest you guys to read this book, because it is a good book to read when you're bored. Beside it's so interesting, the stories in this book are so easy to understand. This book is one of my favorite book, beside the Harry Potter series. My friend borrowed me this book, the Indonesian version, and I fell in to the stories, especially The Tale of the Three Brothers. I'm sure, if you guys are into fantasy and wizarding things, you guys will love this book.
